Worst Credit Card in HISTORY??????

Question: My fiancee and I are getting offers like that at least twice a week >>each. Should we just throw the offers away, or reply with an ‘ are you >>nuts!?!?’ in the return envelope? What would be the best way to stop >>these offers?

>Any attention paid to these outfits just encourages them. Toss them away.

>I’d think twice before attempting to shut this stuff completely off. You >*never* know what the future may bring, and hard as it may be to believe, >there may come a time when you’d rather be alive at 24% than dead at the >prime rate.

Answer: Exactly correct.

Credit is an EXTREMELY valuable resource. Anyone receiving offers of this type ain’t exactly Bill Gates, and likely doesn’t have a perfect 40-year credit history.

If you are a complete financial fuck-up – an offer like this could be a resource to restoring bad credit. You pay the $60 “annual extortion fee”, and work your way back to a “real card”.

I remember the first debit card I got. Coincidentally, I think the limit was also $300, like the credit-card offer the initial poster received. I thought I was the king of the world.

Now I could buy a new car on one of my credit cards.

Obviously if the initial poster has ANYTHING near decent credit, he is absolutely correct that the offer is a complete ripoff.
