Boston Harbor Corp – Foreclosure – BEWARE

Question: Many of you have seen my posts on the Boston Harbor Corporation’s “Fresh Start” program in previous posts. The post essentially outlined their program and the flaws in the program. If you didn’t get a chance to see the post in detail, send some e-mail and I’ll repost it.

Summary: Boston Harbor Corp will get you out of your foreclosure with no tax consequences, bad credit or the fear of a future lawsuit from the lender who took it in the shorts.

Their ads have been running for months on KGO and KCBS radio in the San Francisco Bay area. They may be running a state wide or even nationwide campaign.

Several months I sent e-mail to co…@crl.com including my report to take to the consumer action people at KGO radio where he is a regular talk show host. There was no action.

A few weeks after I wrote Copie, I spoke with Chris Bjorklund, their consumer editor and explained the scam. The reply was, “We can’t pull their advertising just because Chris Colvin says it’s a scam.” KGO was given references and people to contact. To date, there is still no follow up.

This morning I spoke with the Consumer editor at KGO. She still claims there have been no complaints against Boston Harbor registered with her department. As stated in previous conversations, the ramifications for Boston Harbor’s victims will not become apparant for several months to a couple of years. After that, the damage will have been done, and the principals of Boston Harbor will be enjoying a wonderful retirement in Costa Rica.

I just found out today (and informed KGO) that Boston Harbor is under investigation by the IRS, and that Fannie Mae will not recognize a Boston Harbor short sale (if you don’t know what a short sale is, I’ll post that one too upon request).

Since KGO and KCBS don’t seem to want the story (and KGO could have blown the lid off this several months ago) I’ve contacted Brian Bandmiller at KTVU. Let’s see what he does with it.

Anyway, now that my posturing is done, if you are considering entering into a contract with Boston Harbor Corp., don’t. If you have already paid money to them, request a prompt refund (good luck). If you can’t get your money back, call your local DA. You have been scammed.

Answer: It’s the ‘bottom line’, friend! $$, dollars, greenbacks, geeters, Grants, Lincolns, Hamiltons. As long as BH is a “paying” advertiser, KGO probably won’t do anything, unless there is definite hard, solid evidence. From your message here, I haven’t seen “any” of that. Did BH “not” do what they said? Did they fail to live up to their promises?

Clearly they are making ‘false & misleading statements’, but you need to get the Consumer Protection Agency involved and make them aware that BH is saying “We can … [erase] bankruptcies, with no credit consequences” [paraphrased]. They should NOT be allowed to make such claims. IF they catch a person BEFORE he/she goes to bankruptcy, certainly it can be ‘fixed’, because you can pay off all the debts via consolidation loans or whatever; but, IF you claim you can ‘fix’ bankruptcies with “no credit consequences”, I would say that is a false & misleading statement.
