Question: Where should I go to for a home Equity Loan? Bank? Credit Union? Mortgage Broker? One of the big ones like Ameriquest, First Mortgage, etc. I have no Idea where to start…
Answer: Shop all of the above!
Your local credit union is likely to have among the lowest rates and fees, with the bonus of more predictable customer service. One here in Seattle is waiving all closing costs up to Aug 18. Rate is T-Bill +3%.
Use that as a baseline, and see what you can find.
