Question: No – it is STUPID to fight in the territory of others. If you must fight, fight on your own turf, where your supply lines are short, you have the local citizenry to help you, you know the area well, and there will be few if any enemies able to enter and fight you.
Ask any gang member where he would prefer to fight.
Fighting them “over there” in Iraq is a MONUMENTALLY STUPID IDEA.
This is costing us 100 GI lives and $8 billion dollars EVERY MONTH.
Answer: But that’s only two Americans a state killed each month, and it’s only $ 1200 a month a family – and the parents don’t even have to pay for it – it’s being borrowed for the kids !
They can pay it off when they pay their health insurance and student loans – corporate banks are always willing to borrow. (And as long as the amount owed by the government on behalf of the workers doesn’t exceed the total wages all the workers will earn in a lifetime, things should be ok — as long as they don’t eat. It’s not that close, yet.)
(BTW, you forgot to include the VA costs for rehab and disability for the 20,000 wounded Americans – “the welfare entitlement”, as Reagan’s budget labelled those VA costs.)
