Why tax increases never pull in the money they project
Question: It was your ideology of unregulated free markets and totally unsupervised free trade which destroyed US economy and brought us this recession. It was your belief that free-markets will always self police itself which created Madoff and NINJA loans. It was your trickle-down pathetic belief who stole wealth created by productive and redistributed it to the unskilled useless idle rich shareholders while throwing the skilled productive out of work, in debt, without affordable health care and without hope. It was your ideology which transformed US from an industrial superpower into a Chinese sock- puppet who need to kiss the behinds of asians and middle eastern moguls for cash to survive.
Yet, you libertarians and neocons still have the hypocrisy to spew your lies over and over again in the hope to brainwash few more weak minds in the hope to keep destroying US more and more.
Answer: Yes, but it was the VOTERS, in neurotic denial, who bought into Raygun’s voodoo economics rather than face the reality of the American Malaise Carter was talking about indicated by oil imports.
And it was AMERICAN CONSUMERS who bought the big ego feeding SUVs Detroit was selling cause it could not make enuf money to support retirement benefits off selling small fuel efficient cars.
There’s enuf self righteousness to go around both sides of the political spectrum. We live in the Untied States of Denial, which may very well dissolve in blind sided self interest. Dr. Freud noted how it takes a traumatic event to wake up a neurotic from delusion. Certianly well reasoned posts about the situation will not change anything; when was the last time you saw any of those you’ve tried to convince admit he was wrong?
Hello? Nor am I trying to convince you now, only point out that the data is very ambiguous and it may well be time to get outta Dodge before the shit hits the fan cause people wont listen to reason.
